In the spirit of Halloween I thought I'd post a few pictures from a Tim Burton Halloween photo shoot from last year. I'm a huge Tim Burton fan (ever since The Nightmare Before Christmas) and these pictures are nothing short of amazing. Enjoy :)
If you'd like to check out the rest of the photos from the shoot at Harper's Bazaar website, click here.

Rings under $25
First off, one of my favorite places to shop for jewelry is etsy.com. They have a huge selection of handmade jewelry and it's usually priced really reasonably. I've actually heard that a lot of the jewelry on Etsy is actually underpriced! So it's a great place to shop and I love the fact that you're supporting independent jewelry designers and not those big corporations.
Silver Cross double finger ring: $14.99, snefter shop at etsy.com
Silver Sleeping Beauty ring: $20.00, essu shop at etsy.com

Top shop is another great store for affordable jewelry. They have TONS to choose from:

Love quote scarves hit hollywood
Love Quote scarves seem to be everywhere this season and for good reason. They're cute, comfy, and the perfect accessory for these cold months. I want one in every color! They aren't too expensive. I've seen them running for around $80-$90 at stores like boutiquetoyou.com, tobi, and singer22.com which all have a pretty good collection to choose from. I did find one site that is offering Love Quote scarves for cheaper. 6pm.com has a limited selection but the scarves they do have are discounted from 20%-30%. That's not bad!

NERD ALERT!!
One of the latest trends to be seen in hollywood has been the nerdy glasses look. Celebrities, guys and girls alike, have been spotted wearing thick, black framed glasses. I think it has potential to look really hot or like a hot mess. So if you choose to rock this look, just make sure you do it well. Here are some of my favorites ways the trends been worn:

Olivia Palermo in the streets
image from theskinnywebsite.com
Although I hate to promote Olivia Palermo, I have to admit that she does know her fashion. Here she is in all black with a pair of colored flats and a clutch. I love the jeggings, love the colored accessories, and I love the fur vest. I'm not the biggest fan of the jacket on underneath, but hey, that's just me.
Pick of the day

So if you find yourself lusting after one of those Mike & Chris jackets but you know you'll never be willing to spend $600 on one item... I have an alternative! This jacket sold at Metropark is not only cheaper ($128), but it's also not made with real leather which (as you might already know), I'm a fan of. It's a jacket that would be great for casual days and the built in hoodie gives it a great masculine meets feminine vibe.
Mike and Chris Fall 2010 Lookbook
So I think it's about time to admit that summer is gone and we need to start preparing for the cold weather. Leather jackets are something that never goes out of style and they are everywhere this season. They might not be the cheapest item in your closet, but their definitely worth the investment. Here are some pictures from the Mike & Chris Fall 2010 Lookbook. They're a little too spendy for me but I love to check out their items to try and find a similar but cheaper product in other stores. Enjoy!

Fur or not to Fur...
Fur has been popping up everywhere this season. There's fur on skirts, dresses, tops, shoes, hats, vests, scarves, jackets... I mean it when I say everywhere! Personally, I don't think many of the right opportunities come around where it would be acceptable to wear a fur skirt but I can definitely find the places to incorporate a fur jacket or vest into my wardrobe. Many celebrities, models, and stylists are fans of the look including Kate Moss and Rachel Zoe who have sort of paved the way for the rest of us. You can see Kate Moss's collection at topshop.com and Rachel Zoe's picks at piperlime.com. My advice would be to just be cautious, this trend can tend to look over the top in every day situations and for those of us who don't live in NYC. If you're worried about trying this trend, go something more understated like a jacket with fur trimming. Also, remember only FAUX fur! It's cheaper and more animal friendly of course :). Here's a great look from Nordstrom that I wouldn't mind wearing on a night out:
J Brand obsession
image from jbrandjeans.com
Celebs can't get enough of J brand this season. Here's Nicole Sherzinger in the 901 legging...For the average person, spending $162 on a pair of leggings can be a little outrageous but the good news is that you can find pairs of leggings that are practically identical almost anywhere and generally for half the price. Just keep in mind this season that skinny is here to stay!
Website highlight!
For those of you who love to window shop online, I have the perfect website for you: Shopstyle.com. If you haven't heard of it already, it's time you check it out. It's basically like a google specifically for fashion and online websites. You can enter in keywords like "white denim" and it comes up with categories you can choose from and then lists TONS of websites selling that item and their price points. It's one of the greatest websites (in my opinon), for the fashion obsessed.
