Pick of the Day

So my pick of the day is this blue, sheer long sleeve tee by Blue Life. Let me tell you why I'm in love with this top... I think the color is amazing and would look good on almost anyone, the loose fit is on par with current trends, but mainly I'm just in lust with this look that Planet Blue put together. Unfortunately it's out of stock right now but I'm signed up to get the news the second that it comes back in stock.

Miley Cyrus + Dolce and Gabbana

Miley Cyrus wore this Dolce and Gabbana dress to the EMA's last week and oh. em. gee... I am incredibly jealous of Miley Cyrus for getting to wear this dress. She's not even 18 and she's wearing Dolce and Gabbana. Oh life is so unfair. This really was the perfect dress for her because it's not too revealing and it's still sexy. The bangles were the perfect addition and helped to complete the look. I have to say this was probably my favorite look at the award show last week.

What I'm listening to...

She released 5 new tracks called "Ocean Way sessions" last week. I like Jar of Hearts better, but I still think they're worth checking out. Click here to hear them.

VS Fashion show 2010

Victoria's Secret had their annual fashion show last week. It was crazy and outrageous and super sexy as always. This year's motif was storybook characters meet mythical goddesses. It's hard to say what was my favorite look, I love them all! If you want to check out the rest of the looks, click here. You can also check out backstage photos at style.com.

Pick of the day

I love, love, love loooove these pants! These crop pants have the BEST fit of any that I've seen. Granted they are by designer Alexander Mcqueen and $420.00, but still... It's fun to imagine myself wearing them. They're so versatile when worn correctly, you could wear them for any occasion. Slouch pants are somewhat of a tricky purchase because they tend to not fit as well the cheaper you go. That doesn't mean you can't find a cute but still affordable pair, it just requires a lot of research. So I thought I'd help you out a little and post some of my picks for affordable options.

Remember: Heels are key when wearing a pair of crop pants.

Rebel Yell Fall lookbook

Vintage clothing is something that will always be in style so I thought I'd post some pictures from one of my favorite vintage inspired clothing lines: Rebel Yell. They're clothing creates the perfect balance between hippie style and rock n'roll. I particularly love this line because they have a niche in the market that not many others have explored and while their clothing is loosely fitted, it still fits perfectly. It gives that casual Cali surfer chick vibe that I'm totally in love with. This line has been well received by celebrities as well. From celebs like Vanessa Hudgens to Megan Fox and Audrina Patridge. If you're interested in seeing what Rebel Yell clothing they're wearing click here. I also like that despite their celebrity endorsements, their prices haven't skyrocketed. T-shirts run anywhere from $45-80 but the quality is on point. Here are some of their pictures from their Fall lookbook.

It's all about the legs...

If you're not prepared to put away your dresses, skirts and shorts this winter, you're in luck... Legwear seems to be taking on a main focus this winter. From tights and stockings, to socks and legwarmers, you'll have a huge selection to choose from. Tights and stockings are something that never really go out of style, so investing in a few pairs is definitely a good option. Socks on the other hand, are something that has been popping up recently:

Designer: DNKY/ Fall 2010 RTW

Here's an example of how you can wear a pair of ankle socks under some platforms. They also look great under mid-calf boots. Notice how they've made sure to keep the look wintery by adding a trench coat. It's important to make sure you're warm enough and that you're look doesn't say "summer." I personally don't think I'd choose to wear a pair of shorts during the winter unless I was wearing a pair of boots. It gets too cold here for that to be appropriate.

Designer: A Detacher/Fall 2010 RTW

I love this look with the over the knee socks under a pair of boots. It covers up some of that bare leg so it makes wearing a pair of shorts a little more suitable for winter. It mirrors the look of over the knee boots, but instead of having to splurge on a pair you can wear a pair of boots you already have! It's a better option for those of us who have limited income to spend on trendy clothing.

As far as tights go this season, you can always go with the traditional grey and black. If you want to spice it up a bit, you can always try wearing a pair of patterned or white tights.

Designer: BCBG Max Azria/ Fall 2010 RTW

Designer: Cynthia Rowley/Fall 2010 RTW

Now, if you want to be really, really trendy... you can opt for wearing a combination of both or matching a pair of tights with some leg warmers. Wearing a pair of tights with ankle socks on top is a great look when worn with a pair of great pumps. Chanel shows us how to wear a pair of legwarmers on top of types and it looks amazing. This is such an 80s throwback, I love it!

So there you have it. You'll have TONS of options this winter so just take your pick! I think everything this Winter is awesome and I can't wait to start filling up my wardrobe :).

Hottest hats to wear this fall/winter

Hats are my favorite winter accessory. Not only are they practical in the cold weather, but they can really complete a look. I get SO many compliments when I'm wearing a hat, probably more so than any other outfit I put together. Here are the hottest trends, from the runway to the stores:

Trussardi 2010 RTW show

Military style caps have been around for quite a while and after checking out the runway shows for fall 2010, they aren't going anywhere any time soon. They're a classic and my personal favorite. You really can't go wrong with a military cap and they're flattering on everyone. Seriously. Round brim hats are also gaining popularity this season. Celebs like Drew Barrymore have been seen sporting similar caps to the one on the right. I believe that the cap above is a form of a fedora, but I'm not entirely sure, so don't quote me on that one. Either way, you can't go wrong with round brim this season.

J Crew/Fall 2010 RTW show

J Crew was another designer who took full advantage of head accessories during their fall fashion show. On the left, they've used a chunky knit headband, which isn't an entirely new style but it recently started gaining more momentum. Another similar style to the chunky headband is the slouchy knit cap on the right, which has been hugely popular among celebrities like Jennifer Aniston.

DKNY/Fall 2010 RTW collection Twenty8Twelve/Fall 2010 RTW collection

Lastly, we have some tried and true staples in the fashion world. The beret (on left) and the slouch beanie (on right). DKNY and Twelve8Twelve both make extremely wearable lines and that is shown here in their accessory choices. Neither of these hats are going to be extreme fashion statements, but they are great nonetheless and really help to polish your look off.
